Project requirements

In 2019, ASR Dutch Prime Retail Fund commissioned an investigation into which objects in the portfolio are suitable for generating solar energy. Due to the large roof surface and the energy demand, supermarkets in particular appear to be suitable for installing solar panels. For this reason, the AH branches in Bergen op Zoom, Den Dolder, Maassluis, Middelburg and Twello are now being provided with a solar energy system. a.s.r. real estate leases these properties to Albert Heijn.

Our support and solution

Zoncoalitie advised ASR on the potential earnings and possibilities regarding PV installations on the roofs of the various supermarkets. In addition, we took care of the subsidy application and the technical feasibility studies. After we had thoroughly short-circuited what was needed, we were able to look for a suitable provider. For example, we were able to link one of our members, LENS, to ASR to provide their supermarkets with solar panels.
